Frequently Asked Questions – Acupuncture

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is the most common practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This practice involves stimulating certain points on the body, with a sterile thin needle entering the skin, to relieve pain and treat various health conditions.

Are acupuncture treatments painful?

Acupuncture needles are much thinner than hypodermic needles. Some patients feel a mild, dull aching sensation as the needles go in, and some patients feel nothing.

Are acupuncture needles sterile?

We purchase and use sterile and disposable Acupuncture needles. The needles are used for one session and only for one individual before being disposed in an approved sharps container.

To see the result of acupuncture, should I convince myself?
